International Baccalaureate Programme

International Baccalaureate Programme

The  International Baccalaureate (IB) is a highly regarded programme of education that is designed to develop well-rounded individuals who can respond to today’s challenges with optimism and a combination of an open but critical mind. For over fifty years, the IB has provided a consistent framework and the flexibility to tailor students’ education according to their culture and context. The IB is currently offered to almost two million students in IB schools around the world. IB programmes enable teachers to develop resilient, self-motivated young people who have the knowledge, skills, and sense of purpose they need to thrive and to contribute to making the world a better place. NorKam Secondary School has proudly offered the IB Diploma Programme (DP) since September, 2011, offering a two year programme to students in grades 11 and 12. As of October, 2023, NorKam Secondary School has become a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), a programme of instruction for students in grades 8-10.

Middle Years Programme

NorKam Secondary School is excited to announce that it is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme starting in September 2024, with our first grade 8 cohort. The Middle Years Programme  aligns with the common philosophy of IB World Schools, emphasizing a dedication to providing high-quality, challenging, and internationally-minded education that we deem essential for our students. It's crucial to note that only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Attaining candidate status does not guarantee authorization, and for additional details about the IB and its programmes, you can visit to find out more about the MYP.
